Rosatti calls for consensus at Council of the Magistrature meeting

President of the Supreme Court, Horacio Rosatti, participated in a meeting of the Council of the Magistrature where changes to the competition rules were discussed, and called for building consensus. Before Rosatti's arrival, Lugones described the meeting as "important" and anticipated a deep analysis of the Supreme Court's project, though he clarified that he will not support proposals "blindly". The meeting is part of the review process of the judicial selection system, a central axis on the Council of the Magistrature's agenda. When addressing councilors, officials, and technical teams, the magistrate stated: "We are going to work with everyone's opinion and seek the best possible decision". During his brief intervention, he thanked the invitation and valued the "valuable contributions" of both current and former members of the body, according to the Argentine News Agency. Rosatti also emphasized that there are "many points of contact" between the different initiatives and announced that the participation of non-governmental organizations that requested to intervene in the debate will be considered. The meeting, which had begun moments earlier under the leadership of councilors Alberto Lugones and María Fernanda Vázquez, was attended by representatives from different sectors, some remotely.
